WHY: "an American Alice Munro” (The Wall Street Journal), and “one of our most lucid and insightful writers” (San Francisco Chronicle). Her peers have been no less vocal, from Jennifer Egan (“bracing . . . boldly unconventional”) to David Sedaris (“if there are ‘Jean Thompson characters,’ they’re us...

3.5 I wanted to like this more but I agree with what Judy below had to say. Alot of the stories had no follow thru so I felt very unsatisfied in the end.
