I read and liked this book as a kid, but forgot about it until recently. I tracked down a copy and it's basically what I remembered: a solid if short book about a girl who leaves home to attend a ballet school. A nice nostalgic read.

I don't generally enjoy the portrait collections as much as the 'regular' books, and this was no exception. I did find it interesting that the first BSC movie (and the only one I've seen) was referenced in this one though.
It had its moments, but like in the other Portrait Books, I really miss the rest of the BSC. This one was better though, as it at least had Dawn's California friends.I still haven't forgiven her for leaving Stoneybrook though! ;)
