A great book for anyone interested in the history behind selected popular European (I'm pretty sure all the stories were from Europe but I could be wrong) fairytales. The stories include several illustrations from different editions as well, and it's cool to compare the different interpretations.
This was a much quicker read than I expected. Nothing in it really seemed "new" to me, and I don't know if that is because I have read and seen enough "faithful" renditions of the story or if I actually read it at some point in the past and forgot about it.This version was strange because both Beaut...
My absolute favorite fairy tale. I love this book.
A good collection with excellent annotations. But I don't understand why they included so many classic illustrations -- and had to make them so tiny in order to cram them all in -- rather than offering just a few in a size that they could actually be seen.
Little bit strange. It was an okay story but Beauty was more vain and superficial than I had expected.
