I was born in southern England but now live in East Anglia with my wife, two grown up children and an over-active Border Collie who loves playing frisbee despite the cliche. I grew up on a diet of James Herbert books and would credit him with being the biggest influence on my writing; the way his books contain so many seemingly unrelated strands and the way he then weaved them all together to produce a satisfying ending, was nothing short of genius. The world of writing lost a true master when he passed away last year.My admiration for Herbert's work probably explains why the vast majority of the 100 or so short stories that I've written, are rooted firmly in the ghost/horror genre. Most of these have been published either in anthologies or online. I have also won prizes in over 20 national and international writing competitions. My debut novel, Destiny of the sword, book 1 in the heroic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Arkadia, was published by Netherworld Books in summer 2012 with the sequel, Redemption of the sword following a few months later. Book 3 in the series, Fury of the sword, was published late in 2013. I am currently editing book 4 in the series, Forging of a legend. Although it is the fourth book in the series, chronologically it is the first and as the title suggests, tells the story of how Teren Rad becomes the hero we know in the later books.I have also published an anthology of some of my prize winning ghost and horror stories, called Tales of terror for a dark night. Some of the other great anthologies I've been published in alongside some very talented authors, are listed below. Please check them out. Thanks for stopping by to learn a little about me!www.jeffajones.blogspot.co.uk
