I do love Jen Lancaster's memoirs. For the most part I have enjoyed them all, though there were two I was pretty meh about after finishing. This one gets four stars from me, I deducted a star because she includes her script for a housewife dramedy that I guess she pitched to people in Hollywood. It ...
I ended up re-reading this book yesterday because I needed something to make me laugh. I have always gotten a kick out of Jen Lancaster's older memoirs and even though I know them by heart, I still laugh each time. I think my main take away at reading this again after several years of reading her la...
I have read all of Jen Lancaster's memoirs. I think that now after trying to read two of our fictional novels, I am going to pass on them in the future. I still really dig her memoirs, but her fiction not so much.Penny Sinclair is divorced from her husband of X amount of years (I refuse to go look t...
This book kept up the twist & turn right up until the very end. The ending had me thrown for a serious loop. I usually figure out mysterious early & I did not ever even come close to figuring out that twist! Great job Jen Lancaster for such a brilliant novel that had me stumped!
This was not at all what I expected from Jen Lancaster. Normally she's a 5 star author who makes me snort with laughter and this barely got a few chuckles. This felt a little tamer than her other stories too which are anything but tame.
I have either really loved Lancaster's memoirs (Bitter is the New Black) felt meh about them (Pretty in Plaid) or just downright did not like them ( Jeneration X). This was I felt just meh about in the end. This memoir follows Lancaster trying to cross things off her bucket list. Now age 46, Lancast...
If You Were Here follows Amish-zombie-teen- romance author Mia and her husband Mac (and their pets) through the alternately frustrating, exciting, terrifying-but always funny-process of buying and renovating their first home in the Chicago suburbs that John hughes's movies made famous. Along their h...
I bought the Kindle edition of this book. Reagan Bishop is a pusher. A licensed psychologist who stars on the Wendy Winsberg cable breakout show I Need a Push, Reagan helps participants become their best selves by urging them to overcome obstacles and change behaviors. An overachiever, Reagan is ...
This was my first foray into Jen Lancaster's work. I'll probably try reading some of her earlier books, since I heard they were hilarious. This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't LOL-funny either. [spoiler] I bawled like a baby when she finally had to put Maisy down. I know how much it totally sucks...
