Audience: Young Adult Format: Audiobook/Owned Winter had come, bringing harsh winds that cut like knives through my cloak, the land frozen beneath my feet each morning and continuing to chill, even when the sun rose.- opening line The final book in the Traitor's Game series. This book does...
Book 2 in the series, after Traitor's Game, didn't disappoint. Kestra is tasked with killing Lord Endrick, but that doesn't go so well and she isn't the same after. Simon thinks he can save her without magic (because magic makes people evil like Lord Endrick). Coracks and Halderians are after her an...
"Nothing is as it seems in the kingdom of Antora. Kestra Dallisor has spent three years in exile in the Lava Fields, but that won't stop her from being drawn back into her father's palace politics. He's the right-hand man of the cruel king, Lord Endrick, which makes Kestra a valuable bargaining chip...
Well, it's not really a surprise that my sons have great taste in literature. My oldest has been telling me to read The False Prince for 7 years! My youngest just finished reading Jennifer Nielsen's The Mark of the Thief series and pretty much devoured it. I see now what their enthusiasm is all a...
This was amazing. The story was exciting and so entertaining. I loved Sage and how witty he was. This book had danger, friendship, humour, and so much more.

I'm not sure if it was the writing, the 3 cups of Jasmine black tea or my insomnia but I found it difficult to put down and then even more difficult to eject from my brain in order to let the sleep in. There were anno...
~~~~3.25 - 3.5 Stars~~~~ This book was a mixed bag of uuuwww interesting...no wait booooo... yawn....no wait MEH... no wait YAY!! Confused? I was too but I'll elaborate. I loved the MCs voice through and through! His attitude and delivery of witty quips was perfectly executed and fun to read. ...
I'll update this post with my final review once I've finished/quit the book. But before then I just have to say I wish Nielsen were more patient with her story and with her readers. She explains too much too early and it's getting worse with every book. Ugh, I got bored in the middle and just skim...
I cannot stop comparing this series to The Queen's Thief, which is really not fair to these books since the Queen's Thief series is better than most everything out there. Like The False Prince The Runaway King is compulsively readable. But I wasn't that into the story. Again it takes a loooong tim...
The False Prince is very easy to read, but it's kind of a strange reading experience. It takes a loooong time for the story to get going and then the ending is quite abrupt. The twists are pretty easy to spot* especially after having reread all of Turner's The Queen's Thief series earlier this year....
