Jennifer Scappettone works at the crossroads of poetry, translation, research and pedagogy, and the scoring of textual, visual, sonic, and gestural fields. She is the author of Killing the Moonlight: Modernism in Venice, which received Honorable Mention in the Modernist Studies Association's annual book award competition. Her books of poetry include From Dame Quickly and Thing Ode / Ode oggettuale, the latter translated in dialogue with Marco Giovenale. Exit 43, an archaeology of the corporate dump and opera of pop-up pastorals, is forthcoming in Fall 2016 from Atelos Press, and a letterpress chapbook is in progress for Compline. She edited and translated from the Italian writings of polyglot postwar poet Amelia Rosselli to produce Locomotrix: Selected Poetry and Prose of Amelia Rosselli, which won the Academy of American Poets's biennial Raiziss/De Palchi Book Award. She now curates the Italian section of PennSound, an audiovisual archive of contemporary poetry. She has collaborated with musicians, code artists, dancers, and architects on a range of creative projects. She is associate professor of English, Creative Writing, and Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago.
