King mentions in his afterword that this book is among his favorites...it's among mine too. It's still as powerful and spooky a read as it was when I read it as a little boy, nestled safely in my bed during a raging, midnight blizzard with only his storytelling powers to comfort me.

I was looking for more books to read in the thriller genre. I enjoyed it, but think it's one of those books that loses quite a bit on a second reading, because the element of surprise is no longer there. Still, it was good entertainment while it lasted :)
