A nationally recognized educator and founding science teacher of a college preparatory high school. She has taught Advanced Environmental Science, DNA Analysis, Forensic Science, Limnology, Microbiology, Osteology, Gross Anatomy, Facial Restoration, Oral Anatomy, Anatomy and Physiology and is a practicing dental hygienist. In 2009 she was selected as one of twenty-five teachers nationally who received the Teachers of the Future Award from the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). She received the Wisconsin Lake Stewardship Award and the Wisconsin Stream Monitoring Award for Teacher and Classroom in 2008. In 2005 she received the Citizen-Based Monitor Educator of the Year award from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for her commitment to educating elementary and high school students about the environment. In 2002, she was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Health Sciences at Marquette University.
