Jim A. Kuypers is an associate professor of communication at Virginia Tech and principle consultant at Kuypers Communication. In addition to the books listed here he has written over 30 journal articles and book chapters. He is the winner of the Everett Lee Hunt Award for Outstanding Scholarship (for Purpose, Practice, and Pedagogy in Rhetorical Criticism) and had his book, Partisan Journalism: A History of Media Bias in the United States, designated a Choice Outstanding Academic Title for 2014. He is the recipient of the American Communication Association’s Outstanding Contribution to Communication Scholarship Award, the Southern States Communication Association’s Early Career Research Award, and Dartmouth College’s Distinguished Lecturer Award. His research interests include political communication, meta-criticism, and the moral/poetic use of language.
