I'm a writer -- titles in print are listed on the Amazon site -- and also international secretary of the Orthodox Peace Fellowship and associate editor of its quarterly journal, "In Communion". I grew up chiefly in Red Bank, New Jersey, but went to high school in Hollywood, California. After graduating from the US Navy Weather School, I was stationed at the Weather Bureau in Washington, DC. After obtaining an early discharge from the military on grounds of conscientious objection, I joined the Catholic Worker community in Manhattan. Since 1977, I've lived in Alkmaar, Holland, not far from Amsterdam. I originally came to Holland to head the staff of a peace organization, the International Fellowship of Reconciliation, a post I held for twelve years. I'm the father of six children, all grown up, and now the grandfather of eight.
