Being set at a renaissance fair, this set itself apart from a lot of the other mysteries. Jessie being the name of the main character and I was all set! (Jessie is my youngest sister's name). This ended up being disappointing. I really didn't like Jessie and found her to be judgmental and immature. ...

While I've occasionally been involved in SCA activities I've never been to a renfair. This is a story of Jessie Morton, who is doing research on medieval crafts, and date the manager, Chase Manhattan. It's Halloween and there are a lot of halloween extra characters around. One of them is death a...

It’s not a story I would normally read or review on my blog, but there was one major deciding factor in me choosing to read it…the authors, Joyce and Jim Lavene. These two bri...

Authors Joyce & Jim Lavene have a wonderful way of making a story come to life. In this latest installment of the Renaissance Faire Mystery series I could hear the sounds, smells the scents of enticing food, and see every detail as described. It was just like I was standing in the center of it all. ...

Wow! The first six chapters of KILLING WEEDS had more things happening than I’ve read in entire books. But it’s not surprising to me that authors Joy & Jim Lavene had my full attention in this mystery so quickly, because they have in every book I’ve read by them. This was a wonderfully written sto...

I'm not really sure what to say about this one. On one hand, it was interesting and different; on the other hand, the plot was so far-fetched, even the International Space Station had problems keeping it in sight. Not a bad read, but it was definitely out there.

For those of you who haven’t read this series, you’d be doing yourself a favor to do so. I only follow a handful of cozy series that have any sort of a paranormal feel to them. Or as I like to call them…Paracozies. Out of the ones I do follow, most of them are by Joyce & Jim Lavene. These authors ha...
