Jim Scott (1953 - still going) Born in England, raised in rural West Sussex. Left school early to join the merchant navy and there began the insatiable traveling and writing bugs which would endure there-onward. Well to the left of middle on the spectrum between bushman (L) and urbanite (R). Wandered to or sojourned in more than 70 countries and territories on all but Australasia and Antarctica, generally avoiding the larger population areas and seeking the natural realm. Sailed many seas and all but the Southern Ocean on anything that floated propelled by wind or engine, as well as many lakes and rivers via paddle power. Such wandering resulted in 36 consecutive years without permanent residence anywhere lived and a somewhat non-conventional set of realizations and philosophies about life. Also resulted in a barrel-load of interesting tales and fascinating insights to share from many diverse cultures and unusual experiences. These are written in both short story and classical poetic form. Three books published to date in the "Wanderings and Sojourns" series with a fourth being written. The first of a series of illustrated environmentally messaged children's books also at publishers and a large environmental novel based around some Anish'naabe philosophies is awaiting 2nd draft. There is also a film script underway with a strong environmental emphasis plus the novel to go with it.Currently living in a bucolic area of Ontario, Canada (where permanent residence was finally obtained) and now an empty nester having raised three great kids, much of the time as a single dad.Travels are by no means over and many future stories have yet to be lived and books telling them written.
