Jo Condrill Stacked the Deck with Immigration Lawyers, an International Affairs Consultant, and 12 Immigrants for her latest book Immigrants Coming to America. Jo Condrill took a creative writing home study course as a diversion when she had two small children. When the third child arrived she put writing aside. After a few years, she had an editorial assistant position at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX, with the general editor of a series of books. One of her short writings was published in the first book and her writing career began. In 1991-1992 Jo led a Toastmasters International district in the Washington, DC, area to rank number one in the world. She served on their Board of Directors from 1994 to 1996 and received a Presidential Citation in 2007. In 1996 she published "Leadership from Vision to Victory in Six Simple Steps" in Great Speakers Anthology Series, Volume 6. Jo was initially inspired to write a book on communication skills because English was a second language for her parents. Bennie Bough, Ph.D. was in a mastermind group with Jo and happily teamed up with her. In 1998 the first edition of 101 Ways to improve Your Communication Skills Instantly was published. It was soon licensed by a publisher in Korea to be translated and sold in that country. Overall, twelve countries licensed the book, translated and sold it in their countries. In 2005 the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service, presented GoalMinds, Inc. an Export Achievement Certificate for "Accomplishments in the Global Marketplace." In 2012 the 5th Edition of the book was published. An audio CD is also available. In 1999 Jo published A Millennium Primer: Take Charge of Your Life. Taking advantage of her life experiences, culminating in her signature achievement in Toastmasters, she formulated a system for going from where you are to where you want to be. Jo was presenting seminars on the topic when it was suggested that she write a book. She later published a second edition, Take Charge of Your Life: Dare to Pursue Your Dreams. Jo did book signings and seminars of all of her books. One signing was in the Barnes and Noble store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Book signing is a lot of fun for Jo. At one signing in El Paso, Texas, a young lady was still sitting in the audience while the line for an autograph stretched down the aisle. She said simply, "My family is waiting for me in the car, but I don't want to leave." A few years later at a seminar conducted by someone else, Jo heard a participant relate how her (Jo's) book, Take Charge of Your Life, had ultimately saved her life. Using her own experiences as a springboard, Jo dictated her third book, From Book Signing to Best Seller, into a recorder as she drove from Phoenix to Los Angeles at the end of a book-signing tour. That book was named the Best Writer's Reference Guide by the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association. While Jo has been busy with writing, speaking and working, she enjoys her family and leisure activities. She served in leadership positions in Rotary clubs in Crystal City, VA, and Palmdale, CA. While in the Crystal City/Pentagon Club she met Dr Spasimir and Krassi Gazdov who some years later hosted Jo's visit to their home in Bulgaria. From there, they took a side trip to Troy and Istanbul, Turkey. Jo loves adventure.Click the FOLLOW button above to keep up with Jo's activities.
