Dr. Seibert is a professor of pediatrics an radiology at Arkansas Children's Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Health Sciences and has been an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church since 2001. She has served as a deacon at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Trinity Cathedral Little Rock, and now is assigned to St. Luke's North Little Rock. Her most recent book is in 2 volumes, Interpreting the World to the Church, Sermons for the Church Year and Sermons for Special Occasions, Funerals, Ordinations, Sermons after Disasters, Children's Sermons.Another recent book is Taste and See, written with her daughter Joanna ES Campbell about seeing God's presence in difficult situations and food is always present! Previous books include The Call of the Psalms, a spiritual companion for Busy people and The Call of the Psalms, a spiritual companion for people in Recovery. The two books are stories in response to the 150 psalms. She also has written a book, Healing Presence, about visiting the sick and dying and grieving. She also edited a book of meditations on the Eucharistic readings, Surrounded by a Cloud of Witnesses, has been a writer for Forward, Day by Day, and has been a frequent contributor to the Living Church and the Anglican Digest. She also has been the author on several pediatric radiology textbooks, the most recent being Casebase Pediatric Radiology, 2 Edition.She and her husband, Robert, for eight years were Arkansas' representatives to the National Cathedral in Washington. She is a facilitator for the Community of Hope, Walking the Mourner's Path and involved in Crisis Response Team in the Diocese of Arkansas. She previously has been on the board of the National Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church and the Camp Mitchell board. She was named one of three "women of distinction" in Arkansas in 1992 and has been named one of the top 100 women in Arkansas by Arkansas Business for several years as well as being on the list of outstanding doctors in the country for many years. She is a former president and chairman of the board of the Society for Pediatric Radiology. Arkansas Children's Hospital annually gives an award to the physician at the hospital who embodies teamwork in his or her practice. The award is named the Robert and Joanna Seibert award.Joanna and her husband Robert have three grown children and six grandchildren and have lived in Little Rock for almost forty years.
