Jodi Compton is the author of "Hailey's War," about a failed West Point cadet turned bike messenger, Hailey Cain, for whom a simple favor for an old friend turns into a bloody search for redemption in San Francisco's back alleys and L.A.'s gang territory. Hailey returns in "Thieves Get Rich, Saints Get Shot," in which she's accused of a double homicide in San Francisco and must evade a manhunt long enough to find the true killer. Compton's earlier books, "37th Hour" and "Sympathy Between Humans," about Minneapolis missing-persons detective Sarah Pribek, are both available through Amazon.
