I'm the author of more than 50 books on technology, including Backing Up Your Mac: A Joe On Tech Guide, Take Control of Your Online Privacy, Mac Security Bible, and The Nisus Way. I'm also a contributing editor to TidBITS and a senior contributor to Macworld, and was the winner of a 2009 Neal award for Best How-to Article. I have worked in the Mac software industry since the early 1990s, and previously managed software development for Nisus Software and Kensington Technology Group. Since 2007, I have been on MacTech's list of the 25 most influential people in the Macintosh community. When not writing or speaking, I like to cook, travel, walk, and watch movies. I'm the eponym and instigator of Joe On Tech, a website and ebook series that helps people improve their relationship with technology. I can neither confirm nor deny that I wear a cape and fight crime in my spare time. After more than five years in Paris, I now live in San Diego, California with my wife, Morgen Jahnke, our sons, Soren and Devin, and our cat, Zora.
