Architectural photographer John Cleave has created three earlier books of his unique 'digital watercolours' published by Editions Didier Millet in its 'Sketchbook' series. These comprise 'Washington: Scenes from a Capital City', a best-selling survey of the city in which he has lived for over 40 years; 'Athens: Scenes from a Capital City', in which he explores the new and the familiar in a historic city, the birthplace of his wife; and 'Istanbul: City of Two Continents', in which he takes a very personal view of the diverse former capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires that is also, today, a modern city and Turkey's largest. Now, in 'Royal London', he returns to the city of his birth, focussing on the glorious regal history that provides the dynamic 2000 year-old city with so many of its iconic landmarks.
