John is a retired U.S. Navy officer and 1978 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. His experience in the U.S Navy informs his best-selling science fiction novels and stories. He has written more than 19 novels including The Lost Fleet: Steadfast, published in May 2014, The Lost Fleet: Imperfect Sword, just published in October 2014.
