I received a free kindle copy of Mention My Name in Atlantis by John Jakes, published by Open Road Media Sci-Fi & Fantasy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I gave this farcical tale of Hoptor the Vintner three stars. There were funny parts but overall there were too many references to ...
Better than the last couple of books in the series. This portion of the Kent Family Saga delves into the Civil War which has always been an interest of mine. A solid volume in the series.
The fourth instalment of the Kent Family chronicles was a substantial improvement over the third volume. The story revolves around the resourceful Amanda Kent. In the Furies we are presented with a member of the kent family that is, for the most part likeable. My biggest complaint about the serie...

In terms of storytelling, the Rebels was a step down from the first in the series. Unlike the first novel, many historical moments are narrated. You are not afforded the opportunity to live these moments with the characters. This should not shed an unfavorable light on the novel. Jakes skillfull...

Loved it so much! I am glad that I bought all 3 books in the series at once so I'll surely be able to read the next 2. Really makes me want to watch the mini-series again. I totally love the characters, even the ones I love to hate, Virgilia, Justin, Bent lol =)
