John Linton is the founder of Linton Productions, Ascending Arches and a recognized film producer, director, author, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. Mr. Linton has produced and directed films for national television, theatrical, and educational worldwide release as well as several books in numerous genres.His interests in motion pictures began when, he was a young man. His interest grew into ability, and his ability into expertise. His home movies were epics. In college he studied advertising, public relations, journalism, cinema, and drama. Since graduating from Brigham Young University, he has spent his entire professional life in film production. Mr. Linton produced such films as the award-winning docudrama The Great Dinosaur Discovery. During his career he has produced films for Brigham Young University, the Public Broadcasting Service, the Weyerhaeuser Foundation, various government and commercial agencies.John Linton has received numerous awards, including the Cine Golden Eagle Award in Washington, D.C., Learning Magazine's "Best Film of the Year Award," and the Best of the West in San Francisco.His love of film is second to his love of the written word and telling a rich and compelling story.Mr. Linton is the father of five children and grandfather of 17 grandchildren. He resides in Utah and loves to every second he can spend with his children and grandchildren.
