Jon Looney was born on the Arkansas side of the Mississippi River near Memphis, Tennessee. He is the author of three volumes of poems: Uphill (Arrow Press), Headwaters (August House), and Bluffwalker, Snakedoctor, Whistlepig (August House). His work is included in a number of anthologies including Ozark, Ozark: A Hillside Reader (University of Missouri Press); Ozarks Panorama; A Rough Sort of Beauty (University of Arkansas Press); Solamente in San Miguel: Writings from the Authors' Sala of San Miguel de Allende and Solamente en San Miguel, Vol. II, for which he received the Judges Choice Award for Poetry. His articles on American art have appeared in the Journal of the Print World. Jon divides his time between San Miguel and Colorado.
