Disturbing. Should be required reading for everyone.
Really enjoyed this book. Lots of solid references in the back also. How to be healthy at 100? Eat fresh vegetables, sing and dance, and generally be positive. :)
A nice blend of anecdotes, opinions, and tips about life, money, and voluntary simplicity. An enjoyable, thought provoking book that I will read again.
John Robbins' writing style is not my favorite, but I always read his books and sort of scan the parts where he gets to wordy and mushy. The information is good, and worth having.
I have not actually tried any of the recipes in this book, I've just read the text. John Robbins' style is a little New-Agey mushy, but the information is good, and he's passionate about his subject.
It was especially interesting to me to learn about some little-known cultures and their simple lifestyles. Robbins can be a little wordy at times, and a tad too "New Agey" for me, but he comes from the heart, and the information is valuable.
