I live on the south coast of England, UK in what is known as ten-sixty-six Country. An area rich in folklore and history.I have published five books of short stories which have been compiled into one volume, Dark Reunion: Twenty Short Stories. My first novel is a Victorian thriller, The Russian White. Set in London in 1853, with Russian spies lurking behind every corner, a young lady, Isobel Hunt, finds herself caught up in international events when a very important diamond goes missing.Running Before The Midnight Bell is an urban crime thriller. Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea on the south coast of England are the backdrops to a series of murders targeted against vulnerable members of a particular community. Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Nemo struggles with the case as long-held secrets are slowly revealed, unaware that he too is being stalked by the killer. In The Grip Of Old Winter is a fantasy. Eleven-year old Peter spends Christmas in his grandparents' old house. It snows and keeps on snowing and Peter goes back in time to ten-sixty-six, just after The Battle of Hastings. He goes even further back in time, to Albion when fire-worshippers practiced their arts. The cold awakens an ancient evil and danger and horror impacts on the deep past and the present and the decisions Peter must make will endure through the Ages. Many of my ideas are inspired by the countryside I see around me every day and by the people who choose to live beside the sea. Some of these ideas include elements of fantasy, occasionally horror and even humour.

I enjoy short story collections and essays. But this was just bizarre. Disjointed. Poorly edited. And the cover is effing terrifying. Thank God this is an old giveaway I won. Usually collections have some sort of flow, but these didn't. Except for the "old lady" theme, none were related. Some were i...

Overall this collection of stories only made up approx 70% of the book (the rest was dedicated to promotion of the author's other works) and left quite a bit to be desired. There weren't really any creepy stories here, and the 'horror' was in very small quantities. My favourite story by quite a way ...

I just finished reading Haunted: Ten Tales of Ghosts. It has 10 short ghost stories. You can read a story or 2 in just a few minutes. Which I really like, since spare time comes in short spurts for me. Each of the stories are by different authors. I enjoyed 3 of the stories more then the others not ...

The book is a compilation of ten different stories. My favourites were Death comes for Maggie McDaniel by Grayson Bray Morris which had an unexpected and doleful ending; and Druid Stones by Rayne Hall for it tells how individuals scruple to help strangers. The most weird or rather funny was Creature...

Bites: Ten Tales Of Vampires is a collection of assorted Vampire tales. Each tale uses different versions of vampire lore so not all stories feature the same sorts of vampires. All of these stories are well written and enjoyable in their own way. Some are great the way they are as short stories. Oth...
