The Good Buy Girls are back and better than ever. As with all the books in this series, ALL SALES FINAL would be a bargain at ten times the price. (But Maggie and friends would still suggest you look for the best deal.) I have adored this series since the first book and I’m not embarrassed to say ...
Good-bye Good Buy Girls. I felt like an adult reading a Nancy Drew book while I was reading this. That seems a bit unfair to Nancy Drew though. More accurately, the writing feels like it's geared towards 4/5th grade reading comprehension levels. The MC shows a greater maturity in this book tha...
The first in this series wasn't bad, but I found the 2nd one to be too over-the-top and had decided to forego further books in the series. I won a copy of this one here on GR and am glad I did, as I would have missed out on a VERY good read! Most of the childishness was missing from this one which...
The first two books in this series were bad. I thought they actually really sucked. So why, oh why, did I buy the third one you may be asking? Because Josie Belle is a pseudonym for Jenn McKinlay, she of the very entertaining Cupcake Shop series, the even better Library Lovers series, and the spe...
Yet another dud! Jenn McKinlay, which is who Josie Belle really is, is far too good a writer to write such childish characters! Maggie & Summer just got on my last nerve. I know there really are grown people who act like they do, I just thank God that I don't know any as I'd have to be slapping t...
Maggie Gerber needs just the right merchandise to give her secondhand shop, My Sister’s Closet, the edge over her vindictive rival Summer Phillips’ new store that has opened right across the street. The Good Buy Girls have heard that Vera Madison will be selling off her vintage clothing at the St. S...
Josie Bell is a pseudonym for Jenn McKinley, currently one of the best cozy mystery writers out there. I love her two other series and it really bothers me that I can't love this one as well. What I absolutely can't stand about this book (and series): Maggie acts about as immature as is possible ...
Another read looking for a good cozy mystery. This book was a lot of fun with it’s theme which was looking for good deals and special discounts. The group of “girls” known as the Good Buy Girls are various ages and meet to coupon and share deals they know about. Claire being new to the group is the ...
Enjoyed this one! Not as good as the Cupcake Bakery or Library Lover's series, but still a really fun read. I love a good bargain myself so could identify with these gals! LOL RECOMMEND!
It's my own fault. I'm not a huge fan of McKinley's writing and I should have checked the GR information. It wasn't my type of cozy. I don't really care for shopping or anything of the sort.I'm sure it's not bad it's just not my thing.
