Joy Johnson is a nationally known author and presenter. Along with her late husband, Dr. Marv Johnson, she co-founded two nonprofits in Omaha, Neb., the Centering Corporation and Ted E. Bear Hollow. Centering is America’s oldest and largest bereavement resource center and Ted E. Bear Hollow is Omaha’s center for grieving children. After writing or editing more than 100 books and articles about grief, Joy wrote her first novel called The Burned Out Old Broads at Table 12. Since the first novel, she has made hundreds of presentations at libraries, churches, book clubs, and gathering places for “seasoned women.” The BOOB Girls series chronicles the adventures, mysteries and comedies of a group of widows from the Meadow Lakes Retirement Community and are guaranteed to make you laugh out loud. There are fan clubs, and countless bonding moments; the kind of bonds that only women know how to make. There’s always room for one more at Table 12!She lives in Omaha, Nebraska and has three children and six grandchildren. Joy may have white hair but she is still 5 feet, 9 inches tall. Joy is an Iowa girl, from a little town called Creston. She graduated from Creighton University.Her joy is writing BOOB Girl books and talking with fans and readers.
