Joyce Audy Zarins (www.jazarins.com), formerly Joyce Audy dos Santos, has written five and illustrated twenty children's books which are culturally diverse and often feature nature. Her first picture book, "Sand Dollar, Sand Dollar" is available in a Spanish/English version and is being translated into French, Portuguese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. "The Go-Around Dollar," which she illustrated, is available through Simon & Schuster in hardcover and in a Carus Corporation educational anthology. Her first YA novel was excerpted as a novella in Cicada magazine in 2014. She lives north of Boston and is married to a man born in Latvia who lived in Germany and Spain before the USA. They have three children. One is married to an Icelander and another to someone of Indian descent, so her family is wonderfully global. Her favorite place is the beach at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island, which inspired "Sand Dollar, Sand Dollar."
