Born and raised in Minnesota, Joyce attended college and grad school in Chicago where she studied psychology and social work. After working as a psychiatric social worker, a mental health program manager and therapist, she retired at a young age to write full-time. When she isn't writing her own mysteries or historical romances, she loves to walk, read and day-dream.
