Judith Claire Mitchell is a writer and teacher living in Madison, Wisconsin. She is the author of two novels, THE LAST DAY OF THE WAR (Pantheon and Anchor Books), a historical novel set in the aftermath of World War One (and called "a bravura performance" by the New York Times Book Review), and the forthcoming A REUNION OF GHOSTS (HarperCollins), the story of four generations haunted by an ancestor's questionable moral legacy.Judith was born in Brooklyn, NY, spent much of her adult life working in Providence, RI, then switched gears to attend the Iowa Writers Workshop. She is now a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate level fiction workshops and directs the MFA program in creative writing.
