Judith D. Schwartz is a longtime freelance writer whose work explores ecosystem restoration as a means of addressing our global problems. Her 2013 book "Cows Save the Planet" looked at soil as a hub for our many environmental and economic challenges--and for solutions. In "Water In Plain Sight: Hope for a Thirsty World", she shows how appreciating the way water moves across the landscape offers new routes to water security, with implications for climate change, biodiversity, poverty and conflict. The book introduces readers to water innovators throughout the world, with stories from Southern Africa, Mexico, Australia, Brazil and across the U.S. Judith's journalism has appeared in venues from Glamour and Redbook to The Christian Science Monitor and The New York Times. She is the author of several books, including Tell Me No Lies: How to Face the Truth and Build a Loving Marriage (coauthored) and The Therapist's New Clothes. She has an MA in counseling psychology and an MS from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She lives with her family in Southern Vermont. Visit her website at www.judithdschwartz.com
