Judith Post taught elementary school for six years before having her two daughters. She always meant to return to teaching, but life interfered, and she began dabbling in writing. Her husband--kind man that he is--signed her up for a course entitled Writing For Fun and Profit. She had lots of fun, not much profit, but got hooked on writing mystery short stories. They appeared in Alfred Hitchcock, Ellery Queen, and different anthologies before she tried her hand at novels. She wrote cozies that didn't sell, then discovered urban fantasy. She could combine her love of myths, mysteries, and wonder into one genre--the best of all worlds. Now, besides striving to be a Domestic Goddess, like Nigella Lawson, she fills plots with gods and goddesses from the Greeks and Norse and tosses in the occasional werewolf, shape-shifter, or witch besides. Oh, what fun!
