Julia started her writing career as a professional journalist and published poet. After winning a few awards in the best features category during her early professional years, she realized that she would rather shift into "explanatory journalism" and write more creative narrative. So, she started writing more poetry, short stories and books, eventually giving up the news career. Along the way, she also obtained a Master's degree in counseling. Most of her non-fiction books blend spiritual and psychological themes. She lives on an island in the Pacific North West and is often spotted in her native California visiting family and friends, and catching up on the surf and sunshine.Julia is a popular speaker and engages her audience in surprising and fun ways no matter what topic she is addressing.She is available to speak or minister to churches and groups.
