For over 40 years Julie Moss Herrera served diverse rural populations in Illinois and Colorado as an educator in the roles of teacher and librarian. During this time she used storytelling to engage her students in meaningful learning. Once a month she tells stories on her region's community radio station. Her favorite stories are folktales from around the world because she believes folktales have much to tell us about life and the culture from which they come. Because of her love for folktales, Julie has ventured to China, Peru and Mexico in search of story. Her first book, Old China through the Eyes of a Storyteller, is the result of her trip to China.
