Really cute, clever story. My niece is a scientist at heart, so she enjoyed trying to figure out what was going on with the experiment in this book. Good story.

I love David Wiesner! I think his trademark wordless books are pieces of art so when I opened this up and saw words I did a double take and felt a little betrayed. A girl's science experiment gone wrong, or vegetables from outer space? Typical of Wiesner, the illustrations are rich with detail. This could easily be a wordless book, although the text provides details such as people and place names.
