As a child Kane often ventured between the worlds of reality and fantasy. After and sometimes during school, he submerged himself in Greek mythology and stories of superheroes and villains. He became fascinated by the fantastical creatures he read about, especially the tales of the undead. Soon he began illustrating his ideas, and quickly discovered his talent for writing and passion for storytelling.Kane was never one to shy away from adventure and risk-taking, He once convinced his middle-school classmates to spend 10 minutes in a dark, abandoned building. He armed his friends with only a tape recorder and asked them to record their fears. Experiments like these gave Kane fresh material to craft dark stories, and by the time he reached high school he had already penned drafts for a few novels. In college Kane's interests broadened and he earned a dual degree in Mathematics and Psychology. The consummate overachiever, Kane went on to spend more than a decade working in the corporate world. But something felt off balance, and Kane realized that he had veered away from his real passion. So he decided to quit his day job and refocus his life on entertaining people through his stories. In 2010 Kane traveled to Romania and Eastern Europe to study the folklore, culture and history surrounding vampires, the subject of his first book. Having gathered an immense body of research and interviews to draw on, Kane set out to write what would become his award-winning book Aleron: Book 1 of the Strigoi Series. Praised by readers and critics, Aleron is a uniquely imagined vampire novel. It is at once a sensual love story and a thrilling, fast-paced adventure that crosses culture and time, from eighteenth-century Egypt and beyond. As the first installment in the five-book Strigoi series, Aleron takes its root in the Bram Stoker historical tradition of vampire mythology as well as highlighting the passionate sensuality akin to Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. The Strigoi are the restless souls of the dead originating from the Carpathian Mountain region in Romania. Kane has recorded the dramatized audio book, adapted a screenplay for Aleron and remains at work on the second installment in the Strigoi series in addition to other fantasy works for lovers of the undead and the lore surrounding their counterculture. When not writing, Kane travels, gathers research material, and shares his passion for storytelling with fans around the world. He enjoys speaking at book festivals and giving writing workshops. Enthusiasts of the fantasy, horror, and para- normal genre have welcomed Kane into the club of young and talented authors.
