Karen McPherson is an Oregon poet whose full-length volume of poetry Skein of Light was published in 2014 by Airlie Press. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Sketching Elise (Finishing Line Press, 2012), and has published poems in a number of journals, including Fireweed, Descant, Umbrella, Centrifugal Eye, Cider Press Review, Beloit Poetry Journal and Passager. McPherson also translates poetry and essays by contemporary Quebec writers. Her translation of the first two volumes of Quebec poet Louise Warren's Archives trilogy (Delft Blue & Objects of the World) was published by Guernica Books in 2013. McPherson is Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Oregon. Her research focuses on contemporary francophone women writers from Quebec and the Caribbean. She is the author of Incriminations: Guilty Women/Telling Stories (1994) and Archaeologies of an Uncertain Future: Recent Generations of Canadian Women Writing (2006).
