Dr. Karin Ikas, M.A. is an Assistant Professor at Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main (Germany) and has published nine books so far. Her dissertation (Ph.D. thesis, overall excellence) on "Modern Chicana Literature: An Intercultural Analysis" (published in German as Die zeitgenössische Chicana-Literatur: Eine interkulturelle Untersuchung [Heidelberg, Winter, 2000] won the Daimler Chrysler Foundation's "Academy Award for Intercultural Studies 2001". Karin Ikas is recipient of the "Research Award of the University's Jubilee Endowment 2002" (Wuerzburg) and conducted postdoctoral research work at universities in Australia, South Africa, the USA and Canada.She has published widely on English, Canadian, American, Australian, (Post-)Colonial, Gender and Jewish Studies. Homi K. Bhabha (Harvard) prefaced her latest co-edited book "Communicating in the Third Space" published with Routledge (New York/London) in 2009. Harrassowitz publishing house (Wiesbaden) has just released her edited collection of critical essay entitled Global Realignments and the Canadian Nation in the Third Millennium.
