Having read and enjoyed many of Dick Francis books, I was very disappointed. Had the feeling that it was written to meet an obligation to the publisher. Then again I only found out much later that it was written after his wife died.
I've always loved Francis' work, and Sid is a favorite protagonist. It's been a while since I've read one of his works and this one did not disappoint. Good story line, strong dialogue and vivid characterization typical of a Francis mystery. Looking forward to reading the ones done with Felix.
