"Where There's Smoke" is a short story, and Larger Than Life is a novella. These two short pieces are mini-prequels to Leaving Time. The first features psychic Serenity Jones, while the second is narrated by Alice, the elephant researcher whose disappearance in Leaving Time forms that book's centr...

Everyone should read this book. Including my mom! (More on that later.) As the book demonstrates, extroverts and introverts can and should learn to play to one another's strengths, to reach compromises that allow them to accommodate one another's preferences and social styles. In doing so, they ...

I have fallen in love with this book. To think, on a few different occasions when deciding which audiobook to download from my library's site, I read the description of this book and passed on it. But this time I decided to give it a try, and I was quickly hooked. Jenna Metcalf wants to find out...

They probably have "theory of mind" and they wrestle with death (hey, they're just like us humans). I saw the elephants in the story as a character and mostly they just seemed to ...

OMG, no words can express how I felt about this book. I couldn't get the book out of my head. So many twists and turns throughout the book made you want to read more and more. The characters were amazing and the setting made the book what it is. I have read all of Jennifer McMahon's books and th...

In this audio, the reader deals well with French accents, but she does not inspire me as some readers have, with other books, to feel as if I am witnessing a beautiful performance. This may also be, because the book did not inspire me either. I found it flat, a bit too emotional, and although it rev...

One of the better books in this series. I enjoyed learning more about Dr. Isles and thought the plot was twisty enough to keep me engaged to the end. Listened to the audio version which was read by Kathe Mazur.
