Keith Graves grew up long ago in a strange, humid land called New Orleans. And if you don't think it really is a strange place, then you haven't been there for Mardi Gras. He is the author and illustrator of a bunch of nutty books for children including Frank Was a Monster Who Wanted to Dance, Chicken Big, and Three Nasty Gnarlies. "Chicken Little" retold in a coop filled with the stupidist chickens ever. Even stupider than actual chickens can be. I hate chickens for anything except food, but I love writers who make me laugh at stupidity. Library copy.

Very silly, cute and a little gross. I loved the main character, Josephine, but wish there had been more resolution for the robot.

We're not as committed to read-aloud time as we once were. Now it's more random. But both Tash and I have really enjoyed other Keith Graves books, and this one has an over-the-top gothic monster-movie feel that we are loving.
