Ken Goddard grew up in California's San Diego County, went to school at Grossmont High School, the University of California at the San Diego (first freshman class at UCSD) and Riverside campuses for a BS degree in Biochemistry, then went on to what was then LA State University for a MS degree in Criminalistics. Ken joined the Riverside County (CA) Sheriff's Office right after graduating from UCR as a deputy Sheriff/criminalist/CSI, transferred to the San Bernardino (CA) Sheriff's Office to do the same work in a bigger desert, then moved on to the Huntington Beach (CA) Police Department to create a Scientific Investigation Bureau. After 12 years of working drunk drivers, illicit drug, burglary, rape, robbery and homicide crime scene investigations, Ken was hired by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to create the National Fish & Wildlife Forensics Laboratory in Ashland, Oregon. Ken lives in on a ranch outside of Ashland with his wife Gena and a varying assortment of wild and domestic critters, all of whom --- along with his current and former CSI, forensics and law enforcement work --- continue to inspire his stories.More information about Ken, his work and his books can be found at the following web sites: www.kengoddardbooks.com and www.lab.fws.gov.
