Ken Kristensen is an American writer and producer of film, television, comic books, and journalism. Known for both comedy and drama, in interviews he has cited several key experiences that have shaped his writing: "spending time in jail, unwittingly joining a doomsday cult, almost drowning in the Mexican pipeline, and sewing myself up with green mint dental floss in the Zimbabwe outback." In 2008, the same year he graduated with his MFA from Columbia University, he won the prestigious Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences' Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting. In 2013 he and his frequent collaborator M.K. Perker co-created the hit comic book series TODD, THE UGLIEST KID ON EARTH, published by Image Comics (The Walking Dead). His work also includes the IDW/Darby Pop superhero comedy INDESTRUCTIBLE and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon's The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay spinoff graphic novel series THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF THE ESCAPIST, published by Dark Horse Comics. Kristensen's journalism has been published by National Geographic, Conde Nast, and Hearst.Kristensen is a member of the Writers Guild of America, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Producers Guild of America.
