Kerri Marie Conner was born and raised in Abington, Pennsylvania. Kerri graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in accounting. She is a certified public accountant and operates her own C.P.A. firm in partnership with her mother.Kerri co-founded the George E. Thorne Development Center. The Center operates a program called "Praise Is The Cure". The mission of PITC is to motivate, educate and encourage underserved women at risk to get breast health screenings and treatments. In 2009 Kerri received the Susan G. Komen - Philadelphia Affiliate, "Breast Cancer Survivor of the Year" award in recognition of her community efforts. Kerri is the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, but she writes this book based upon her own battle with breast cancer. Kerri was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at age thirty-three.
