This Wild Cards book focuses on the cops and other related denizens of Jokertown. I didn't care for some of the authors new to Wild Cards that I hadn't already previously read, namely Cherie Priest and Mary Anne Mohanraj, but overall the book was a good addition to the series.

After Jo Clayton died in 1998, she left the unfinished manuscript and her notes for the final volume in this trilogy for Kevin Murphy to finish. I had a pretty good opinion of the first two books in the trilogy, but unfortunately, as I mentioned, this was a very ambitious work. I can't say for sure ...

Often a bit much. I guess I prefer my horror with more aesthetic style and less abuse... some of the stories weren't bad though - some good authors featured. I probably would have liked the book as a whole better if the editor weren't so keen on defining and validating the term "splatterpunk" at eve...
