I had a very hard time trying to like this book. I had high hopes for it based on the description and earlier reviews I had read. Unfortunately, I just could never get into it. The writing is rather sparse with the most detailed descriptions given over to fishing which I really have little interest ...
The Book Fight podcast does an excellent review of this book. It's a short but beautiful multi-dimensional profound coming-of-age story. It kind of made me understand how teenage boys work.
