I was born in Oakland California and moved to Sacramento in 1950 where I spent most of my life. I have always been a fisherman beginning at the age of 7 when I went fishing with my Dad. I started out in ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams and moved up to the ocean, and finally found myself fishing professionally. I am now retired, but fishing is still one of my favorite pastimes. ANY kind of fishing. I know what it is like to catch a shark and I know what it is like to come home empty handed. I am now a "catch and release" fisherman, but the thrill of the catch is still in my blood. My book is not only about the perils of commercial fishing, but it also a learning experience in life's lessons.
