Karen Whitlow is recovering from her mother's recent sudden death, working hard at her job as a nurse. She suddenly finds out that her father is dead. She hasn't seen him in years but she finds herself now having to go to New Orleans and identify the body. There she also finds Marc Chastain, a de...
I liked this romantic suspense but after initial action it moved kind of slow with lots of thinking about everything until the exciting ending. The almost love at first romance was good with an alpha hero who showers affection his woman. Detective Marc is investigating a murder and soon becomes at...
Karen Whitlaw is still trying to get over her mother's recent death when she gets a package addressed to her mother from her estranged father, Dexter. He's a Vietnam War veteran who never recovered from his war experience and she hasn't seen him in almost 20 years. She puts the package away withou...
I'm giving it 3.5 stars. This book should have been like, 100 pages shorter. There was just sooo much thinking... and thinking... and worrying... and more thinking. When it wasn't Karen sitting by herself thinking, I was loving the book. I liked the characters, the romance, the sex, the plot, etc. B...
3,5 stars. Pretty great. I started this trilogy with the last book. I did not know that "Kiss Me While I Sleep" was part of a trilogy so I read that book not knowing the two previous ones were connected. Despite that this first book is by far more intense than the third one!
A good story. Great combination of mystery, violence and romance. Karen and Marc are a good couple. Love-at-first-sight. :) The political intrigue adds to the overall mystery. So does John Medina.
3.5 stars, maybe because it read a bit outdated I didn't quite get into all of the book. Loved the H/h's chemistry, but the romance felt rushed. The suspense story was solid and interesting. The ending was a bit over the top though and included a major pet peeve of mine the killer does a big info ...
not my favorite linda howard book. the cia/espionage angle was interesting but thought the two main characters were underdeveloped. marc chastain was a bit old fashioned and kind of an ass at times while karen seemed like a cliched workaholic who doesn't have time for love. it was sort of implausib...
This is the first in a trilogy featuring John Medina (ultimate spy). He doesn't have much play time in this book though as it's centered around yummy Marc, a cop from New Orleans and the withdrawn Karen, nurse from Ohio. Her estranged father winds up murdered in New Orleans and since he was ex-milit...
