2 stories in one! Steve Carella must solve a locked room suicide/murder mystery of tycoon Scott. At the same time, one of Steve's collars grieving widow/girlfriend is holding the 87th Precinct hostage. This wasn't my favorite of the series so far but it's still a good read.
