For some reason I'm deeply disappointed in this story. I don't like the mystery, I don't like the main characters, and I've found actual honest-to-god typos in my copy.Did MacGregor's editor go on holiday when this one passed through, because it's really not up to her usual standard :(

Prologue”He is the devil!”Draven de Montague, the fourth earl of Ravenswood, snorted aloud at the conviction in Hugh’s voice as they stood before the throne of King Henry II, while Draven’s brother and one of Hugh’s men stood a few feet behind them. ‘Twas an epitaph he’d heard more times than he cou...
A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind
I wanted to rate this book 3 stars because I liked it better than the first book which got a 2 star rating from me. But honestly I also wasn't crazy about this book, a 2.5 star rating to be precise. Then I remember my "when in doubt, round it down" personal rule, so round it down I did. I think it's...
A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind
A plain Jane rallying town women to withhold sex and herself is in love with the town's Casanova? I will pass. (I wonder, was Maggie a virgin in the book? That would be tremendously ironic for a virgin to tell other women to withhold sex from men to get them to do stuff, no?)
A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind

What can I say? I have read many books with similar plots. Honestly there is litte new under the sun. I don't ...

A sweet, hot Christmas book. There are four stories:- "The Proper Lover" by Eileen WilksSet in Regency England. Emily, a young lady plans to lose her innocence to James, a charming rogue, so that she doesn't have to marry against her will, but she doesn't expect a night of passion to so thoroughly co...

This would have been a solid 2 stars but I'm giving it an extra star for the Julia Quinn story.

I've been on a quest to find a mind-blowing book, so I've been picking up random books to read (which apparently is NOT the way to go about this). Needless to say, Sword of Darkness was not a mind-blowing book, for me at least. I knew I wouldn't like it by 20%, because I already had the plot comp...

4 starsSetting: Reign of Henry IIIn Master of Desire, we got one damaged tortured soul highlander, Draven and one chirpy hopeless romantic young lady, Emily. And it was a bittersweet love story. I exceptionally loved the ending, it reached to great satisfaction. However, I disliked Emily with her co...
