Kirsten Foot is Professor of Communication at the University of Washington, with adjunct appointments in UW’s Information School and Jackson School of International Studies. She earned her PhD at the University of California - San Diego in 1999. She has published extensively on organizing processes, digital media and politics, and practice-based theory and research. Her first book, "Web Campaigning," won the Doris Graber Book Award from the political communication division of the American Political Science Association. She has been analyzing anti-human trafficking efforts in the U.S. and internationally since 2007 in order to catalyze more robust multisector collaboration (see http://CollaboratingAgainstTrafficking.info), and she advises several counter-trafficking initiatives.
